The flights use a combination of Air Canada and All Nippon Airways (very good airline) via Vancouver.
Availability for travel
October, November, and up to mid December 2016.
Dates in January, February, March and April 2017 are available for $35 more.

Looks like I missed out on this deal. I was looking to go to Japan sometime in March/April of next year.
Generally speaking, about how long do these prices last whenever you find and post them? It's only been about 2 weeks so I'm curious how soon one would need to pull the trigger once a deal has been found.

It depends on how many seats and dates are available at the cheap price (supply) vs the popularity of the deal (demand).
These days, I find the truly amazing airfare prices last about 48 hours before selling out. Sometimes they can sell out in as little as as 12 to 24 hours.
Tokyo has dropped to incredibly low price levels from Canadian cities a couple of times in the last year or so. Hopefully we will see them again at some point!
